The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
The first film in the Hobbit trilogy, "An Unexpected Journey" tells the tale of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who lives a simple life in the shire until the wizard Gandalf convinces him to join a quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the fearsome dragon Smaug. The epic journey takes Bilbo on a path through treacherous lands swarming with dangers, not least of which is an encounter with Gollum and a simple gold ring that is tied to the fate of Middle Earth in ways Bilbo cannot even fathom.
