After learning he has an autistic brother named Raymond who inherits the majority of his late father's multi-million dollar estate, selfish yuppie Charlie visits his newfound brother and takes him from the institution in hopes of gaining Raymond's custody and controlling his money. The two set out on a road trip together where Charlie hopes to harness Raymond's mathematical skills to win big at the Las Vegas gaming tables, but this exploitation of his brother's affliction compels Charlie to reassess his own lack of values.
