One cold Minnesota winter, a car salesman named Jerry heads to a small town called Fargo in a desperate quest to make money, no matter what it takes – even if it means hiring criminals to kidnap his wife and demand a ransom from his father-in-law. A pregnant police chief named Marge (Frances McDormand in her Oscar-winning role) is tasked with investigating the string of murders suddenly taking place in her jurisdiction. More blood is spilled across the chilly tundra in a series of botched homicides as Marge hunts for clues and Jerry wraps himself in a web of lies.
