CAPOTE

CAPOTE

Set in the 1950s and based on the true story of a Kansas mass murder, Capote chronicles the life of writer Truman Capote as he travels to a small town to investigate the crime. Consumed by his own interests, Capote (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman in an Oscar-winning role) develops a questionably close relationship with one of the murder suspects and becomes emotionally attached. The murder trial stretches out over the years as Capote attempts to finish the book with no ending, which eventually defines his career as a bestselling novelist but also leaves his self-respect in shambles.
