A PASSAGE TO INDIA
In British Colonial India, a friendship between an Englishwoman named Adela Quested and an Indian doctor named Aziz Ahmed is doomed to failure when a trip to the caves leads to Adela accusing Aziz of rape. Though he is absolved of all charges a while later, the accusation leaves a deep scar in his life, affecting him forever.
